Gene Gitelson

Gene Gitelson, M.B.A., is an international management consultant specializing in the challenges of business leaders and the organizations that they manage. For the last 30 years, he has held senior management positions in both the private and public sectors, internationally, at firms such as the Chase Bank, Seagrams, Seagate Associates, Lee Hecht Harrison and The Leadership Program.  He has provided management consulting and executive coaching to a wide range of companies including Viacom International/MTV Networks, A&P USA, Wells Fargo, Oracle Corporation, Gordon Brothers, the American Management Association and Major League Baseball.

In the last 15 years, he has served as a special consultant to the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Syria, Lebanon, Congo, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Western Sahara, Timor L’Este and Tchad as well as the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Belgrade and Sarajevo.

Through these overseas assignments which has taken him to 56 countries, he has identified 7 critical lessons learned that managers and leaders in business can apply to help companies navigate and manage the uncertainties of change, strengthen leadership and improve cross-cultural management and communication. His insights and practical advice on matters of leadership have been field- tested and informed also by his experience as a Combat Infantry Platoon Leader in Vietnam which West Point titled “The Crucible of Leadership”.
